Does the potter's clay
make the moistening water wet?
Does the spinning wheel
shape the lump thrown upon it?
Do the newly formed vessels
tell the kiln how hot to bake?
They got it backwards.
Sigh for those who hide
their plans
far, far from God.
Cry for those who do their
deeds
in the dark of night.
Pray for those who don't
care
whoever sees them.
They got it backwards.
Shall the clay say it is
equal
to the potter?
Shall the vessel shaped
claim
it knows better?
Shall the object formed
argue
it must be something else?
They got it backwards.
