Jesus fed the 5,000
to remind us
He'd fed His chosen¹
in the desert with plenty to spare.
And He fed the 4,000
to show us
He'd feed even more²
the salvation He planned to share.
In the desert of Sinai,
God fed His
own manna from Heaven,
But in the land of Judea,
through Jesus
He fed both
so much more.
Jesus is the bread of life,
broken for
us, and filling
more than a physical hunger,
but a hunger for righteousness
as well.
And His provision is bounteous,
baskets of
pieces of Him leftover
even after everyone had had their fill.
Praise God's grace
through a broken
Christ
knows no end.
