warm socks straight from
the dryer,
you like it that way?
but how long does the feeling
stay?
ever bowl that perfect strike?
enjoy a good fist pump
because another frame's
coming up.
how about retail therapy?
buying something new,
after the rush, then what
do you do?
ever jumped from a perfectly
good plane?
wondering why all the way down,
feet so glad to feel the
ground.
then there's the old promise
of the beer buzz and weed waste,
liars they are, nothing
but a fake taste.
the perfect job, making lots
of money,
buying a fast car or a big house,
still looking for the perfect
spouse?
how about your spot on the
couch,
that extra comfy space,
can't always find your happy
place?
contentment is what it's
called,
but it's for sure not from here,
you see, to find it with
a capital "C,"
to God alone you must come near.
