Echoing across the ages,
Jesus calls to everyone:
"Follow Me."
But, as many have wondered,
once they believed,
how is it then
we fix our eyes on Him
or follow in footsteps
we cannot see?
Fixing our eyes,
or diverting our attention
from right and left
and behind
and focusing only
on what's ahead,
when it comes to Jesus,
is more about what we can
see
without our eyes
than what we can with.
The Spirit of Christ
lives in us, indeed,
and because He does,
our eyes no longer
need look for a body to
shadow
or for footsteps to trail,
but to use the heart and
mind
instead, in sync with God,
like different eyes
that always sense His presence
and ever know His way.
