Fireflies float and flicker
fast
in the dark
most summer nights
atop the babbling brook
of Tennessee's own Molly Branch,
Evidence God as light
is more than
near,
He's here.
Homeless hungry who have
so little to
eat of their own, share
with those with even less, and tonight
no one misses a meal
in Nashville's Old Tent City,
Evidence God as love
is more than
dear,
He's here.
Amidst a cacophony of cafeteria
catcalls, a
student bows his head,
and gives thanks to God
for his meager school lunch
at Knoxville's own Holston Middle,
Evidence God as holy
is more than
clear,
He's here.
God is spirit indeed,
but if you
look, really look, you'll see
He’s not invisible at all, but truly
more than even sheer,
He's where He's always been,
with us, right here. |
