I'm not the man in your mirror
the man you want to see,
I'm not the man I see in mine
the man I want to be.

I can no more live the reflection
the man you think is me,
I've long since forgotten
the real me's in Thee.

"I am the mirror,"
said the Lord to me,
"Look full upon my face,
and I will set you free."

Now, we do not quite see
the mirror men are in the way,
but then, we shall most certainly:
Him in us, that glorious day.
