When night bears growl,
grunting and grousing
in the dark,
I fly to mom and dad's room,
crawling under cover
and deep between,
Knowing when glare comes
to charge,
neither can stop
the bear.
But it is enough, knowing
they're near,
that they're with
me in my fear.¹

of the soul' lesson from
