They left all they knew
and followed Jesus three years;
He was the Mashiach.
They were His chosen,
they hung on His every word;
He was the Mashiach.
They saw every miracle,
He had them healing as well;
He was the Mashiach.
They rode in with Him
knowing liberation was near;
He was the Mashiach.
They saw Him drive
the temple merchants away;
He was the Mashiach.
They saw Him arrested,
as the temple guards took Him.
Wasn't He the Mashiach?
They saw Him stand trial,
accused of things He didn't do.
Wasn't He the Mashiach?
They saw Him so beaten
and hung to die on a wood cross.
Wasn't He the Mashiach?
They saw Him alive again,
but when's the big revolution?
Aren't you the Mashiach?
Forty days passed since,
and He's about to go back home.
What about the Mashiach?
Now what? Let's go fishing.
Get the boat. Grab the nets.
What's with the Mashiach?
They caught not a fish,
and a long day was breaking.
So much for the Mashiach.
Then from the shore a man
unknown to them said cast
your nets to the right, and
they filled up so full they
could not haul them in.
It's the Mashiach!
Peter jumped into the sea
and swam to shore as fast
as his arms and legs went.
The others hauled the catch
to the shore, then joined Peter,
who already sat before Jesus.
It is the Mashiach!
Do you love Me? Jesus asked.
Peter answered, of course, he did.
Feed my lambs, Jesus said.
Do you love Me? He asked
again.
Peter answered again, he did.
Tend my sheep, Jesus said.
Do you love Me? He asked
last.
Peter answered again, he did.
Feed my sheep, Jesus said.
Now, follow Me.
Says, the Mashiach.
