A canvas dark
Gives way
To shades of light,
Brush strokes of gray
To wisps of white
And touches of pink
Across the sky,
As silhouettes dance
Across the horizon
Slowly donning
Bonnets of gold
Tied tight beneath
The mountain's chin.
It is the sun's shine,
God starting the day
In His painterly way.
