For but a moment,
As I sat upon a lakeside
deck,
The world seemed, as it
were,
To come to a stop.
Not a breeze turned a leaf,
Not a bee dared to take
flight,
Not a wave lapped upon the
shore.
Everything in everything,
so to speak,
Took a short rest.
And I imagined God on the
Seventh Day
when He had finished all His work,
and for a moment He so saw
everything in everything
at rest, and He said
it was good.
