A shovel carving in to soil
cuts the ground for a time,
But will The Shoveler dig
all day?
A rake breaking up clods
of dirt
roughs
the land up a bit,
But will The Raker rake
all day?
Soil must be turned
in order to be made smooth,
So seed can be planted,
and watered just so,
Then crops will grow
and be harvested
row by row.
The shovel and the rake
must
have their day
to prepare the way.
