No matter how tall the man,
The height of his boot heel,
How high his hat crown reaches,
Or how tall he sits in the
saddle,
When he kneels or crouches
to pray
He must get small* before
the Lord.
It is the only way, made
and modeled
By Jesus the Christ, in
great humility,
The only way to come before
the King,
We too must get small before
the Lord,
Bowing before His power
and authority.
Zechariah 4:10
1 Peter 5:6-9
James 4:10
*Praying
is considered "getting small
before God" because it involves
humb-
ling yourself and acknowledging
your
dependence on a higher power,
recog-
nizing that you are not
in control
and need to submit to God's
will,
essentially putting your
own desires
and needs aside to focus
on His
greater plan and authority,
and not
about feeling worthless,
but rather
recognizing your true value
as a
loved child of God. |
