Delivered from chains
and thundering hooves,
bondage in hot pursuit...
Moses and Israel,
looking back in awe,
could not help but burst
out into song of great thanks.
Delivered from manacles
and roaring chariot wheels,
cruelty fast on fleeing heels...
Deborah and Barack,
looking up in awe,
could not help but burst
out into song of great praise.
Delivered from generations
of giant enemies and swords,
revenge for the past on parade...
A weary King David,
speaking out in awe,
could not help but burst
out into a long song of honor.
Delivered from our sin,
a dark bondage we could
not on our own be saved from...
We willingly trade
for an awesome forever
in Him, unable to but burst
out into songs of holy worship.
Delivered from judgement,
the seven bowls of God’s wrath,
spared the hell about to be poured...
God's very own,
awed by His mercy,
we cannot help but burst
out in one last song of gratitude.
Throughout our history,
God's gracious salvation,
time and time and time again...
Has caused His people,
left in the greatest of awe,
into singing songs to so burst
out into singing songs for eternity.
