In our oceans,
hidden reefs
and wild waves,
having cast ashore the foam of shame,
In our orchards and fields,
fruitless trees
and headless grain,
having shed to the ground the bark
and chaff of guilt,
In our homes
uninvited guests
and fearless beasts,
having helped themselves to the feast
of empty promises,
In our skies
waterless clouds
and wandering stars,
having abandoned light for the gloom
and cover of dark.
These
condemned to
live forever apart
from the love of the Almighty,
sentenced for
eternity to dwell in
the pit of self-promotion and gain,
and rejected
from the community
that longs to hold them so tight.
These
unreasoning
animals,
or merely lost?
These
only God for
sure knows.
You
He alone can
keep
from stumbling,
blameless,
love!
