What's prayer for?
We know God wants them,
and He wants
them without ceasing.
We know He hears them, but
answers only
according to His Will.
We know He is always good,
and only wants
what's best for us.
And we know He already knows
our desires
before we disclose them.
What's prayer?
Prayer is not just asking
God
for things
like we would Santa Claus.
Prayer is not just asking
Him
for help in
order to have our way.
Prayer is not just praising
and
thanking Him
when things go well.
And prayer is not how many
words we say,
or the position we pray.
Why pray?
We live in a world where
evil
answers to
the darkest of all princes.
We live in a time where
the
devil cherishes
sifting God's very own.
We are built to be in relationship,
but given the
opportunity to choose.
And we exist in a fleshiness
that
believes it's
wired to want its own way.
Prayer is a lifeline,
a constant
connection,
a very personal attachment,
That begins with a turning
to,
to focus face
to face, eye to eye,
in order to behold God's presence,
And continues without end,
should you
so desire and decide,
all arms ready to hug from open wide.
