How low can you go,
and still give
thanks to God?
Fleas are a blessing*,
a gift from God.
Besides making dogs' lives
miserable,
fleas turn
minute portions of
the blood of their hosts into food
for other animals up the food chain,
mainly birds and other insects.
How much lower?
Ticks are a blessing, a gift
from God.
Besides being a nuisance
to humans,
ticks contribute
to disease
control, food chains, population
control, and even environ monitoring.
Even lower?
Maggots are a blessing, a
gift from God.
Besides their sight causing
one to vomit,
maggots serve
the world
as decomposers that play
a key role in nutrient cycling
in healthy ecosystems.
What's lower than a maggot?
Cockroaches? Botflies? Dung
Beetles?
Slugs? Chiggers? Pond Slime?
Head Lice?
Mites? Leeches? Mosquitos?
Flies? Etc?
They're all a blessing,
gifts from God.
The question again is, "How
low
can you go,
and still thank God for
the gifts He gives, no matter how much
they gross you out?"
Think about it.

ten Boom, in her book called The Hid-
ing Place, quoted her sister
Betsy as teach-
ing others while imprisoned
in the German
detention camp known as
Ravensbrook that
there is no point to which
a human can de-
scend in the world where
we cannot appreci-
ate even the most disgusting
of His creations, seeing even fleas for the blessings they are,
gifts from God. |
